Watering Can Lamps

I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted!  I'm still here…alive and well… but, my life has been crazy busy! So much for it slowing down like I thought it would after my daughter Jaime's wedding last September!
I wanted to share a few watering can lamps I just made for my space at The Desert Cottage. I so enjoyed making them! They are actually night lights. I think they would be nice in a bathroom or perhaps on the kitchen counter if you wanted a little light on in the evening.
Here's a view of my space at The Desert Cottage. It has been so much fun for me …but, is where most of my time and energy has been spent lately. I enjoy it so much and feel so blessed to be in such a beautiful store!
Also, we were all so excited that our daughter Jaime and her husband Michael recently had their wedding featured on Ruffled. This was truly an honor to have our "Rustic Chic" themed wedding featured on such a wonderful wedding blog!

Vintage Lamp Redos

I've been super busy getting things ready for my space at The Desert Cottage. I'm having so much fun redoing vintage floor lamps! Here's a lamp redo I just finished for the store. I really, really wanted to keep it! It sold just in a few days and that is a good thing, but I still wanted one for myself!
I've had this floor lamp for many years. I was thinking it could definitely use an update!
I decided to redo this one and keep it. This is the before photo. At least I remembered to take a before picture! I keep forgetting to do that!
I'm really happy how it turned out. It seems funny ripping the shades off, though… I'm sure my mom would think I'm crazy!
Here's a few more vintage lamps I've been working on.
I so wish I had remembered to take before photos!
They were all in really bad shape!
Here's a table lamp I just redid. I painted it white, but decided not to rip the shade off and just add embellishments! They are all for sale now in space #31 over at The Desert Cottage!

I'm Over at The Desert Cottage Now!

I thought after the wedding was over things would actually start to settle down a bit. In some ways they did, as I was not constantly thinking and preparing for the wedding everyday. However, right after the wedding I decided to visit the new antique/vintage store which had just opened up in our town.
After taking just a few steps inside... I fell in love! The Desert Cottage is packed full of beautiful vintage treasures and one-of-a-kind finds… definitely my kind of place! Anyway, a few days later I found myself with the opportunity to rent a space here! So, I moved out of my other store and into The Desert Cottage! Here's a view of my new space!

A Dream Reception!

I took this photo of the reception area, before the wedding began.
I was upstairs in the bride's room looking down as everything was still being set up. I really love this venue and it was perfect for our rustic chic themed wedding!
Here's a photo of the dessert table.
My sister Jennifer made the cake (which is carrot, by the way) and the caramel apples (which I heard were amazing)! We asked family members to make pies, or buy them.
I made a strawberry rhubarb on the right and the mother of the groom made an apple pie! We made little banners saying who made each pie!
Here's a photo of one of the table settings.
As you can see, it was a fall themed wedding! We spray painted the large mason jars gold, as well as the acorns! I loved the idea of using the little white pumpkins!  Thank you, Brier Rose Design you did an amazing job on the flowers, as always!
Here's a few more photos. The bride and groom table is on the bottom right.
The father-daughter dance was another bittersweet moment.
As the evening went on, we had a roaring fire in the fireplace, perfect for a cool fall evening! It really was a dream-like reception and wedding… and now it really feels as if it were all a dream!

A Dream-Like Wedding!

It couldn't have been a more perfect day for a wedding! The mountain setting for the ceremony was simply stunning!

My handsome husband was so proud and honored to walk our beautiful daughter Jaime down the aisle.
The ceremony was enchanting and at times humorous, but most importantly God was honored.

Jaclyn, the little princess was the best flower girl ever!
Jaime's bouquet was exquisite and the rose petals scattered on the grass added the most perfect touch!
I love this photo of Jaime looking back at me and her dad. It was a very bittersweet moment.

My next post will be of the reception that followed!
