You Have to be an Antique to Appreciate Them!

I know I've been away from blogland for awhile and I have certainly been missing it! I have really missed seeing what everyone has been up to! It seems life has been unusually busy for me lately! Everything is fine, in fact, it couldn't be better! With all the wedding plans and now the opportunity to have a space in a cute vintage store, well...they have been taking front row in my life right now!

Actually, about two weeks ago I found myself with the opportunity to rent a small space in a local store. Some amazing ladies from my church were opening an antique/vintage shop and were looking for vendors. I knew this was the opportunity I was always tossing around in the back of my mind. I knew that I needed to do this! However, I didn't have a stockpile of anything to put in it! So I got busy trying to find things, repaint them and even shop my own house! I'm hoping in the next few weeks to have lots more stuff!

We open tomorrow and will be having the grand opening in a few weeks!

Yes... to the DRESS!

The wedding plans are coming along pretty well, and recently we went shopping for "the dress"! Jaime was just planning to look, get some ideas and see what type of wedding dress would look best on her. But, after trying on lots of beautiful gowns, she found the one!!!

I can't hardly wait until I can share this wedding with everyone! But, until then, I will be giving updates as things progress. Planning a wedding and being a first time mother of the bride is absolutely amazing, but it can get a little overwhelming at times. However, things are definitely falling into place! The photographer is now booked, table-settings and decorations are all being worked out. The guest list keeps getting whittled away at, as we are trying to keep the guest count to under 250! I also want to mention, we are doing this all on a very strict budget and that a beautiful wedding doesn't have to be expensive! It just takes lots of creativity and planning!

Chocolate Easter Bunnies

I really like little chocolate Easter bunnies, especially the kind you eat! But, I especially love the little faux chocolate bunnies! They are just so cute and adorable and perfect for an Easter display! I already have a few faux chocolate bunnies and have been wanting to add to my collection. However, I haven't been able to find any this year, so.... I decided to paint one chocolate!
I bought this sweet little bunny at Michael's the other day. Since he was 40% off, I figured if it didn't turn out painting it with the chocolate brown craft paint, it wouldn't be too costly of a mistake. The thrift store would have been a good place to fine one, but I didn't find any there.
Here he is in a little display with some other Easter bunnies.
At least these three little faux chocolate bunnies will still be around for next Easter!
Unfortunately, this little bunny...well... his days are numbered!

A Wedding Update

Wedding plans are coming along pretty good. We've just settled on the date and have found the most perfect venue!
Jaime wants to have a "rustic chic" style wedding and I'm excited that this venue will work perfectly for that theme! This is an old rustic mountain lodge situated right on a lake! It's also been featured in several movies! The ceremony will take place on the lawn just outside!  This is where the reception will be and I can just picture this place in the evening with the tables set, the lights all twinkling and a warm fire glowing!
