Vintage Baby Clothes

I just love collecting anything vintage and vintage baby clothes are just so sweet and charming! I like the nice little touch they add to my home. They are all one of a kind and most were hand-made!
Vintage baby clothes range from the 1920's to the 1970's.
Of course, they all had to be ironed!
The fabrics were different back then.

I'll have to admit .... a few of these were even worn by me!
This is a little coat my grandmother made for me. It is made from dotted swiss fabric. The smocking makes it look so pretty!
Some vintage baby shoes.
The photo is of my mother-in-law when she was a little girl.
Vintage baby clothes have so many details and the hand embroidery makes them so unique and special.
The little buttons are just adorable!
I think they add a bit of whimsy!
I will be displaying some in my bedroom redo!

Hello Janet ~ I'm swooning over your collection of darling baby clothing! These days clothing items are mass produced and you can really see the difference in the quality of the items. The attention to detail in your pieces is exquisite! And you've displayed them so beautifully, including old photographs and the cute little shoes! I have an antique doll that I would love to outfit in something vintage. I'll be keeping my eyes open once the spring hits and the antique shows begin for 2011. Thanks for sharing ... have a great day!

I am swooning over your precious vintage baby clothes!!! I have nothing from my babyhood and my mother made most of my clothing. What I wouldn't give to have treasures such as these. the smocked dotted Swiss coat has captured my heart though. It is my favorite!!!

How beautiful Janet! They don't make 'em like they used to. And even more special that some of these are heirlooms worn by you! Such treasures, thanks for sharing.

Hi there Janet~ I love your baby clothes displays!! I have collected quite a few pieces myself- mostly because of the antique dolls I have- but I too love to hang them on a little hanger and display them. There is something so sweet about them! How special to have some from your own family! Thanks for sharing this at Feathered Nest Friday! :)

Oh my goodness what treasures to have. They are simply gorgeous and don't look worn or damaged in any way. I've got some baby outfits from my three children and a few from when I was a baby. I love having them and hang one of my daughter's dresses at the end of our hallway. Here is a post I did on it almost a year ago now (back when I was a bloggy newby).
