Cupcakes and Tea Parties!

I've been wanting to share a fun project that I made for my daughter Jaclyn's room. Awhile ago I found this table and chairs at a yard sale for $15.00.... only it was painted blue and green! I thought it would be perfect to use in her room for tea parties, drawing and other activities. I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to re-do it, but decided to paint the table and chairs white to go with her pink room and white furniture. It still needed something else, so when I found the cupcake fabric.... I thought how cute it would be to use that!

 I just photo copied the cupcake fabric and cut out the cupcakes and decoupaged them to the table. With the rest of the cupcake fabric, I made the chair cushions and added the tulle ruffles!

I really like how it turned out and it's just perfect for Jaclyn's tea parties!

I think she likes it, too!

1. Why did you create this blog? 
I started a blog mainly for my family and friends to follow. When I discovered so many amazing blogs out there that share decorating ideas and projects, I thought that would be right up my alley! 

I was a reluctant blogger at first, but am so glad I finally jumped in. I've "met" so many wonderful ladies, that share my same interests!
2. What kinds of blogs do you follow?
Mainly, decorating blogs. But, I enjoy any blog that shares creative projects and ideas!

3. Favorite make-up brand?

Estee Lauder is my favorite, but use Almay Smart Shade.... mostly when I'm at home.

4. Favorite clothing brand?

Anthropologie. But, I will admit it is not really in my budget.... I shop at Target or Ross for clothes that look similar, that are Anthropologie style knock-offs!

5. Indispensable makeup product?

Lip Gloss

6. Favorite color?

Pink

7. Favorite perfume?

Coconut Lime Verbena by Bath & Body Works

8. Favorite film?
You've Got Mail. There's just something about that movie that I can watch it over and over!
9. What country would you like to visit and why?

France! I've always wanted to visit Paris and since my two oldest kids were just there for a 

weekend (see older post "A Weekend in Paris"), it makes me want to go even more! 

10. Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?

Blush.... that might be a little less obvious.

Sweet Miniatures!

I was so excited the other day to find out that I won my very first giveaway! 

Cynthia at Cynthia's Cottage Design has the sweetest miniatures ever and was 

actually giving some away!

This is what I won! 

I think these miniatures are so charming and adorable! Cynthia hand paints the miniatures and makes the little bakery items all herself! I can't believe all the detail she puts into them! I especially love the little chalkboard and the cupcake is just too adorable! Cynthia has a link to her etsy shop on her blog where you'll find her sweet creations!

Now here it is displayed in my dollhouse! 

The little green Le Creuset dutch oven, candle stick and pink plate (below) were also 

included in her giveaway!

I think I will use this giveaway as a springboard of inspiration to finish my dollhouse!

This is the dollhouse I made for my daughters when they were just little girls. It was well played with and now needs quite a bit of repair! My daughter Jessica and I are completely re-doing it. We are redecorating it cottage style! We still have a lot to do, but are inspired now after winning Cynthia's giveaway!

Valentine's Tree

Well, I decided to keep my pink Christmas tree out and turn it into a Valentine's tree!

I decorated it with tulle and some little heart ornaments I found at Joann's. I also added some vintage Valentine's!

A few heart candy boxes and we're almost ready for Valentine's Day!
