Apple Green

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving! I surely did and was so blessed to have most of my family over for Thanksgiving dinner! 

Well, two days before Thanskgiving I decided to repaint the coffee table in my familyroom apple green! As if I had nothing else to do! I do love white, but was feeling some color could make things pop and I've really been loving the color apple green lately! I knew if I didn't get it done before Thanksgiving, then I probably wouldn't get it finished until next year! I was thinking apple green might look kind of nice with my Christmas decorations, too!

This is the way it looked before. It really needed a redo especially since Jaclyn spilled red finger nail polish on it!   

The color I decided on was Bleached Spruce by Valspar. I also used minwax paste finishing wax to protect it. The wax made the color just a little bit darker which I liked.

I'm still trying to finish up all of my Christmas decorating! This room is still a work in progress and will post more of it soon!

Another Side of the Road Find!

A few days ago this cute little night stand was sitting on the side of the road! Well, it didn't look exactly like this, but looked more like.....

this!!! 

When I first saw it, I knew it could be so pretty! I've been wanting to paint some furniture turquoise and so the paint color I used was Lyndhurst Duchess Blue by Valspar.

I just love my new night stand now!

Family Fun Day!

Last Friday and Sunday we had lots of rain and thunderstorms! But, in between all that, Saturday was a beautiful sunny day! So we decided to take our two youngest kids out for a day trip. Now antique stores are not their favorite place to go, but they allowed me to shop for awhile at one of my favorites "Country Road Antiques" in Orange, CA.

They have the most beautiful antiques and I love how everything is displayed!

I thought the little lamp in the bird cage was really sweet.

If you're ever in Orange County, the Orange Circle is full of one of a kind antique stores!

Then we drove down near the beach to see Rogers Gardens. They had their Christmas room set up, which my kids really enjoyed. I think I'm ready for Christmas now and may even start pulling out some of my Christmas decorations!

Then we headed down for a walk on the Balboa pier. It was a little cool, but we didn't mind because...

we ate dinner at Ruby's on the pier!

The kids were excited to have hamburgers, fries and cherry coke!

We watched the big waves crashing and

 the sun setting behind us over Catalina Island!
