Some Favorite Projects From 2011

One of my first project this year was the watering can lamp I made for my Mom's birthday! I really enjoyed making this and have since made many more for gifts! I even made one for my first giveaway! Here's a link to my post about how to make one!

I redid this table and chairs that I found at a yard sale for Jaclyn's bedroom! The cupcakes on the table were photo copied from fabric and then decoupaged onto the table. I also sewed the little chair cushions with the same fabric and added the tulle!

I enjoyed making several sets of the "Mr. and Mrs. Pillows" for wedding gifts this past year!

 Making the the shabby chic inspired curtains for our master bathroom was really fun, too!

Of course, the biggest project we tackled this year was laying a new floor! 

I never knew that this side of the road find would become one of my favorite redo projects of the year!

I was really surprised looking back at how many projects I actually accomplished this past year! I've been inspired from so many of you out there in blogland! There are just so many amazing and inspiring blogs out there! It's so nice to "meet" so many wonderful people from all over the world that share my same interests in creating beautiful homes for their families, sharing creative projects, delicious recipes, funny stories and helpful advice! Thank you! I am truly inspired by all of you!

Christmas Blessings

We're going to Disneyland! 

Our three oldest kids surprised my husband and me with Disneyland passes for Christmas! They also gave our two youngest kids passes, as well! So we'll all be heading over there as much as possible this next year! We're planning to go in the next day or so to see all the Christmas decorations and the snow!

I just wanted to share with you what my sweet husband gave me for Christmas!

I just love it!

We had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you all did, as well! I was so blessed to be with my family and just share a truly special day with them!

Christmas Around My Cottage - Bedroom

Here's a glimpse of our bedroom all decorated for Christmas!

  I decided to set our little pink Christmas tree up on a bigger table this year. In the past, I've always had it sitting on a much smaller table. I really like it at this height!

 Unfortunately, my cute little pink tree has already taken a nose dive this season! The other day I had just settled into a nice warm bubble bath when I heard a loud crash! Apparently, Jaclyn had accidentally knocked the tree off the table while playing with it! I'm happy to report that only one ornament broke and is now glued back together and on the tree once again!

 I just made this silver and blue wreath from ornaments I purchased last year at Target's after Christmas sale. I always like to stock up on wrapping paper, gift bags, etc. at Target after Christmas! 

 It's so nice to already have everything on hand when I begin decorating! It's fun to find some new surprises that I had forgotten about, as well!

I really like the way the lights shine in the bedroom, especially at night! It gives the room such a cozy Christmasy feeling! I hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas Season so far. I'm trying to keep everything simple this year and not get stressed out. Remember that Jesus is the reason for the Season!

Caramel S'more Cups

I just wanted to share a really yummy cookie recipe that my daughter Jessica made last night! These little cookies are simple to make and perfect for Christmas! They are baked in mini muffin tins and that's a good thing because they are quite rich! This recipe uses a chocolate chip cookie mix, caramels (Rolos), marshmallows and chocolate chips for drizzling! They sure didn't last very long, though!
