Once upon a time, there was a Fairy Princess...

...who had a birthday party!
Sweet little fairies flew in from all the land to help fairy Princess Jaclyn celebrate her 7th birthday! There were lots of magical games to play and amazing presents to open!
Delicious pink sweets were enjoyed by all the little fairies!
Then, much too quickly to fairy Princess Jaclyn's liking, the celebration came to an end! It was time for all the little fairies to fly back home. So with a generous sprinkling of fairy dust, they all scurried away and lived happily ever after... and, little fairy Princess Jaclyn fell fast asleep!

The End!

An Unexpected Day at the Beach!

A few days ago, my husband and I decided to take our two youngest kids to the beach. It was very last minute and something we've been wanting to do, but just haven't been able to get away. Anyway, we're just getting settled in and here comes my sister Robbie and her family! We had no idea each other would be here! When you consider all the beaches in Southern California to choose from, and being at the exact same beach and exact same time, I think it's not a coincidence! My sister and I were able to spend the whole day talking and catching up, which we needed. She's been super busy because she has a daughter getting married next month!
Jaclyn and Holland are cousins and best buds!
Jimmy is trying to catch some waves, but they just aren't cooperating!
My sister Robbie and I grew up in a beach town and spent most of our time hanging out at the beach when we were younger. We were just reminiscing, that as teenagers, we both had to be rescued by lifeguards during the same week one summer!
The beach has so many good memories though, and today was a special blessing, a very unexpected one!

My Table Has A Song!

Here's the "after" photo of another yard sale find I picked up for $5.00! The top was really warped and I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with it. So I browsed through Pinterest and found some vintage inspiration!

Here's the before photo!
My little dog Skippy is trying to help me, actually she wouldn't move out of the way while I was trying to snap this photo. I think she wanted her picture taken because she looks like she's posing!
This was a super fun project and didn't take too long, which is the part I liked best! I used a paint and primer all in one, and then just applied mod podge to attach the vintage sheet music. I finished the top off with a satin vanish.
Since I just redid the jewelry cabinet for Jessica, I thought this would be perfect for my daughter Jaime. She plays the piano and loves the vintage look (just like her mom)!

A Before and After!

Recently, I found this jewelry cabinet at a yard sale for only $5.00. However, it was in pretty bad shape! My daughter, Jessica was with me when I found it and so I decided it would be fun to redo it for her.
The mirror wasn't even attached and as I was leaving the guy who sold it to me ran up and handed me a bunch of knobs and screws that supposedly went with it! My husband put it all back together and added some new knobs.
I knew it had potential and was excited to see how it would turn out! Jessica definitely needed a bigger place to keep all her jewelry and stuff!
The paint color I used was Lyndhurst Duchess Blue by Valspar. It's the same color I used when I redid a little table from a roadside find last year. I primed it first, then used a finishing wax to protect it.
Here is the link to that post.

Here's to a Vintage Fourth!

Since it's the Fourth of July, I just wanted to share a few little patriotic vintage vignettes around my cottage! This cute little flag stand was made by my sweet husband! I actually saw one similar to this at an antique store. So, I described it to my husband and he made this for me! I just love it and am so happy how it turned out!
Jaclyn and I had fun making these old-fashioned pinwheels and paper rosettes! I am really loving vintage Fourth of July decor!
Here's a vintage music wreath I made last year!

A vintage patriotic banner!
I just love how all these simple decorations for the Fourth can add a sweet vintage charm to my cottage!

Wishing all of you a very vintage Fourth of July!
