Pink Isn't Just A Color... It's An Attitude!

Welcome to Jaclyn's pink bedroom ... with an attitude! 

Well, the little sign near her window, says ... Pink isn't just a color ... It's an attitude!

 When I saw this little sign at Ross, I knew I had to buy it to hang in Jaclyn's bedroom! She's been known to have a little of it, at times!

Kidding aside, pink is really Jaclyn's favorite color.  

Her bedroom furniture is mostly hand me downs from her two older sisters and from yard sale finds! I bought this bedroom set about 14 years ago for my two older daughters, when we lived in another house. The store (which I don't remember the name) was going out of business, so it was marked way down. The bed has a trundle underneath, which is nice for sleepovers.

I painted the ceiling light blue to resemble sky, and then used a sea sponge to paint the clouds. (Yes, it was a lot of work and I probably would not do that again)! We added some "glow in the dark" stars just so Jaclyn can "stargaze" while falling asleep! The hanging lamp shade is from IKEA.

This little table and chair, I redid from a yard sale find. You can read the post here to know more about it. The curtains, dust ruffle, chair cushion and table are all made from the same cupcake fabric.

Dancing with the Stars... I WAS THERE!

Yesterday, my husband and I, along with my son Josh and friend were in the audience of Dancing with the Stars! It was so much fun to see everything live and in person! Of course, my favorite is Katherine and I'm hoping she wins tonight!

We were not allowed to bring cameras or iphones into the show, so I couldn't take any photos. We sat in the second balcony right next to the sky box. In fact, if you don't blink you can even see me in the audience! 

It was all just so fascinating! There were so many celebrities, but my favorite was Jane Seymour. She looked absolutely stunning and was also very nice! Afterwards, when we were leaving, we saw her outside and Josh who is not shy, went up and said hi to her!

Before the show, we ran into Maria while she was taping her show Extra. Josh asked her for a picture and she graciously agreed.

I thought it was interesting how they pinned Maria's dress to fit her. She is truly a beauty and very nice, as well!

A Vintage Vanity

I finally finished this little vanity for Jaclyn's room! 

I had found the vanity at a yard sale several years ago for $20.00! It included the cute mirror and a little stool. It was painted a very hot pink and had an old worn out table skirt on it. The lady I purchased it from said it belonged to her when she was a girl. I couldn't understand why she wanted to sell it, since she had a little girl now. But, oh well ....

After painting it white, I added the tulle skirt. I used about 7 yards of tulle, so it would be nice and full! With a staple gun, I attached the tulle and ribbon. I just hot glued the little flowers onto the ribbon to cover the staples.

I think it turned out really cute! I still might make a little cushion for the stool!

Jaclyn said she loves it and I will share more of her bedroom next time!

Celebrating Mothers and an Engagement!

My sweet daughter Jessica made this beautiful floral arrangement for me for Mother's Day!

My mom, me, my sister's Robbie and Jennifer, two of my nieces Rashelle and Raeanna! Our families got together over the weekend to celebrate!

Between my two sisters and myself we have 14 children! Nine of them are girls and that's a lot of weddings to plan! Finally, we have the first wedding coming up this summer! Raeanna will be getting married in August! We're all very excited and are hoping she might start a trend!

Of course, I have a little bit of time to plan Jaclyn's!
