She said Yes!

It's now finally official!
My daughter Jaime and her boyfriend Michael got engaged to be married last night!

The marriage proposal took place in the gazebo at the Disneyland Hotel! However, there was quite an elaborate scheme put together by her sister Jessica and soon to be brother-in-law Michael! Jessica had arranged a girl's night out at Downtown Disney. However, right after they arrived and took a bathroom break, Jaime found herself abandoned by all her girlfriends. As she was standing around wondering where they all were, a good friend walked up and handed her an envelope and a rose! Jaime knew then what was about to happen! 

Inside the envelope was her first clue from Michael. It said to go to the restaurant where they had dinner on their first date. When she got there, another friend was waiting to give her a rose and the next envelope with a clue inside! Finally, the last clue said, "I am waiting for you in the gazebo!" 

As Jaime made her way over to the gazebo, family and friends were all anxiously waiting for her to arrive! As she approached, we hid behind the hedges and after Michael knelt down and proposed we all stepped in behind them and applauded! Jaime was so surprised to turn around and see over 40 friends and family watching this truly magical event!

We are blessed and so excited for you! The wedding date has not been set quite yet, but will take place sometime at the end of summer.

Let the wedding preparations begin!

A Vintage Lamp Redo

 This candelabra lamp is my most recent redo project from a yard sale find!

This is the way it looked when I found it at a yard sale for $8.00. The wiring seemed to be old though, so my husband had to rewire it for me. I knew I would be painting the lamp white, but wasn't quite sure what to do about shades. But, when I was in Hobby Lobby the other day....

I found these cute little shades on sale for 50% off!  I thought they would look perfect with the vintage script graphic I used on the candle covers. I was inspired by Rebecca at A Gathering Place and what she did using this vintage graphic on her recent lamp makeover. Everything she does is amazing and I am always inspired by her endless creativity!

So here it is all finished!
Of course, I had to make a new vignette for the table to go with my new lamp!

More Pretty Flowers!

Thanks to my very sweet son Josh, some more pretty flowers showed up at my house last night... just in time for Valentine's Day!

They all arrived in pretty vintage teapots, teacups and sugar bowls!

Flowers for Valentine's Day!

Hands down, my new favorite flowers are now Ranunculus! This lovely Valentine's bouquet was arranged by my sweet daughter Jessica! 

I asked her to pick up some special flowers for me when she was at the Flower Mart in L.A the other day. I knew she could find some pretty ones that would make a nice centerpiece for Valentine's Day! 

 Ranunculus are such delicate and beautiful flowers, but they're not only just for Valentine's Day. I think they will make beautiful flowers for weddings, too! We're going to be needing lots more of these pretty flowers soon! Stay tuned!

A Vintage Valentine Tree

I've been busy decorating my Valentine tree! Making vintage style Valentine's and decorating candy heart boxes has been so much fun!

I just love the old Valentine cards. They bring back a lot of fond memories! When I was in grade school it was always so exciting to pass out Valentine cards to all my classmates! I would always pick out a special card to give to the boy I had a crush on... but, then of course he never knew that!

Embellished Valentine candy boxes add the perfect touch for under the tree!
